Single, 3Gbps platform with cost saving integration plus advanced 5.1 audio
The award-winning Densité Series interfaces provide a unique combination of cost-saving functional integration, advanced 5.1 audio handing, minimal spares requirements, and superior control. This comprehensive range comprises over 70 modules, which address all the core signal processing and distribution functions, along with many other key tasks, including video playback, channel branding, and routing. Any of these cards can be fitted in a Densité 3 frame, and this considerably simplifies facility processing systems.

 Cost saving integration
The Densité Series offers an unprecedented level of signal processing functionality on single cards. This reduces purchase
and maintenance costs, and also simplifies video/audio integration, automation and cabling. For instance, our top of the range XVP-3901 offers up/down/cross conversion, with simultaneous 3Gbps/HD and SD outputs. There’s also integral fiber I/O, full AFD support, and background keying. Multi-channel audio performance is equally impressive, with Dolby decoding/encoding and up/down mixing.

 Combining the best audio technology
TThe Densité Series incorporates technology from audio industry leaders to address the many challenges of 5.1 audio for HD. Dolby technology is used for multi-channel audio encoding/decoding, and Linear Acoustic UpMAX technology is used for stereo to 5.1 upmixing. These capabilities are combined with Miranda’s high performance audio processing, including dynamic audio processing, downmixing, and loudness metering.

 | Single modular interfacing platformThe Densité Series is a single interfacing platform with a choice of frame sizes, including 3RU, 2RU and 1RU (1/2 rack width). The modules are available in 2RU and 3RU sizes, and all 2RU cards can fit in the 3RU frame to minimize the number of frames required. All frames share the same advanced control and monitoring features, and each frame maintains a copy of the configuration of every card in every slot. If a card fails and is replaced by a cold spare, the frame pushes the saved configuration to the new card, allowing it to power up correctly without operator intervention.

 Triple rate 3Gbps/HD/SD operation
The Densité Series includes a wide array of triple rate 3Gbs/HD/SD modules, including signal processors, channel branding processors and DAs.  High quality processing
The Densité Series offers the highest quality signal processing. For instance, the top of the range XVP-3901 processor offers superior up/down/cross conversion at both 50 and 59.94 Hz. This is due to multiple processing technologies, including better detail enhancement; more effective 3:2, 5:5, and 2:2 detection; pixel-based de-interlacing; video over film support; and advanced motion adaptive de-interlacing and anti-ringing.

Improved on-air presentation
To ensure that upconverted or downconverted television is presented in the correct screen size and aspect ratio when aired, the XVP family of signal processors fully supports AFD. This provides automatic aspect ratio control using embedded control commands, and this prevents on-air aspect ratio errors such as the postage stamp effect.
To further improve the presentation of upconverted or downconverted television, the processors feature a background keying capability, which allows side panels (or top and bottom panels) to be filled with video or graphics. The Densité HMP-1801 media server module is ideal for playing out animated backgrounds for the side panels. |

 Lower spares and upgrade costs
The XVP family of signal processors is based on a common hardware module, and this allows easy upgrades in the field to higher levels of functionality from the entry level modules. This single card hardware design adds flexibility, future-proofs the investment, and simplifies spares requirements. |
Advanced facility monitoring & control
The Densité range offers unrivalled remote control and monitoring capabilities. The new RCP-200 advanced remote control panel for Densité cards and NVision routers features a highly intuitive, touch screen graphical interface, which simplifies signal processing and control in multi-user environments with complex signal paths.
Densité interfaces can also be controlled, along with other facility systems, by the iControl desktop monitoring over IP system. Many Densité modules feature streaming video and audio level meter support, which allows the video to be evaluated remotely over IP. The entry level iControl system, called iControl Solo, is now included as standard with all Densité interfaces.
