Description
Traditionally, it has been challenging to control the loudness in between program segments, such as during commercial breaks. However, it is now possible to eliminate these types of irritating loudness differences using Miranda’s new Automatic Loudness Control (ALC).
Miranda has partnered with Linear Acoustic and Jünger Audio, both industry leaders in audio processing, to bring the best loudness control solutions to its Densité range of signal processing modules.
Eliminating those irritating loudness jumpsALC allows users to define a unique target loudness value for all audio programs. Typical use is at playout but it can also be useful at ingest so all material stored on the station’s video servers meets the same average loudness value.
ALC is designed to be flexible and can accommodate stereo or 5.1 programs, even both at the same time when using the 8 channel option. Indeed, ALC has an 8 channel wide architecture and the use of these channels can be spliced into one or more programs in any combination of mono, stereo and 5.1 for maximum flexibility.
